The Stranger

What is a stranger
When they stand
Before your face

Eyes upon eyes
Your feet sharing
The same earth

What is a stranger
When they ask
You for help

Or want to help you
And make a bridge
Between your hearts

What is a stranger
A blow-in, an outsider
One of them?

I tell you it is you
The stranger
Is in your mind

And your heart’s longing
For oneness beckons
That stranger inside

To a place where
There are no strangers
Only friends
