Divine Feminine in Donegal
When I came back to Donegal from Devon in October 2009, I put an ad in a local shop looking for women to start a Divine Feminine Women's Group. I had been inspired by the writings of Sue Monk Kidd, primarily her book 'The Dance of the Dissident Daughter' and beautiful friendships with women I had developed in England. I wanted to connect with other women in a supportive and spiritual way, with a focus on ritual and creativity.
I left this group in January but it is ongoing and the women meet weekly.
A helpful book for starting up a group is Sacred Circles: A Guide To Creating Your Own Women's Spirituality Group by Robin Deen Carnes, Sally Craig, and Craig Scully.
Good related books - 'Women Who Run with the Wolves' by Clarissa Pinkola Estes, 'Iron John' by Robert Bly (a male equivalent to WWRWW) and Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom by Dr. Christiane Northrup.
